Urban Music Farm: Seattle's Recreational Music-Making Junction
It's music making of the people, for the people, by the people!
Our Story
The Urban Music Farm (UMF) began as a simple idea amongst friends who shared a common desire to learn, play and perform music in a fun and recreational environment with social connections, personal growth, and community-building representing the core focus. Following a handful of successful live events where rotating singers (most, first timers to the stage) rehearsed, then performed cover songs with a UMF backing band; the idea has evolved to include a wider range of musical exploration, experimentation, collaboration, and performance by local, recreational musicians and singers of all levels and interests.
Our Mission
Urban Music Farm’s mission is first and foremost to establish new and on-going connections between local recreational musicians and vocalists from all walks of life, who are passionate about collectively making music without the constraints, pressures, or judgement of the competitive music scene. We believe the best music is music we can make together, enhancing our lives by providing opportunities for creativity, personal growth, and social connection like no other art form can. Our model is simple: Play. Grow. Connect!
